Sumiko	Sumiko is a senior at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, where she studies Plant and Environmental Protection Science.	She is fluent in English and Japanese. She enjoys talking about all aspects of the environment, and hopes to someday work for the National Park Service.

Ana	Ana attends Stony Brook University as a Psychology B.S. major and Business minor.	Ana speaks, reads, and writes Spanish, Chinese, and English fluently. She hopes that this experience can enhance her language skills and improves her social relation skills.

Meaghan	Meaghan is currently in her second year at Pace University in New York City. Though she has not yet declared a major, she is studying Sociology, Psychology, and Criminal Justice. She plans to study abroad beginning next semester.	Meaghan learned French for a short time when she was younger and Spanish for 7 years. She has worked to strengthen the English of a non-native speaker at her school for the last year by meeting and engaging in conversation regularly.

Anna	Anna is in her third year at New York University, where she is pursuing a degree in International Relations, and also studying Business and Philosophy. She hopes to go on to study law and work to support human rights globally.	Anna is a native Russian, and has been lucky enough to be raised between Russia and the US. She is a former ballet dancer and a current enthusiastic cook. She enjoys traveling, politics, and art.

Thom T	Hi my name is Thom Takahata. Iʻm 21 years old and currently a senior at the University of Hawaii where I study Film production techniques. My hobbies include writing, reading interesting novels, graphic and traditional, watching intriguing films, as well as photography/cinematography.	I hope to be a film director in the future directing meaningful and thought provoking films. Outside of film, I enjoy sketching from life as well as drawing from my imagination. In addition to all of that, I have passion for cooking and love learning about new cultures and their cuisines.

Maribell	Maribell is a recent graduate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has two BAs in Speech and Communications. Maribell’s has been working with Overcoming The Barrier for about 1 month and thus far she has enjoyed her experience. With English being Maribell’s second language, she can relate to clients. Maribell’s interests include sustainability, food, dining, cooking, travel and leisure. On her free time she likes to make creative videos or take on challenging upcycled fashion projects.	Maribell is fluent in Filipino and English. Being raised both in Hawaii and in Manila she has built a strong interest in learning about different cultures and gaining cultural understanding. In the next few years, Maribell is going to pursue graduate school in either Business Administration or Second Language Studies. Maribell looks forward to having a session with you all.

Amanda	Born in sunny southern California, I spent my formative years in the United States dreaming about living in foreign countries. I have visited 10 countries in Asia, South and Central America, and currently live in Guatemala. My Bacholor´s Degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies from Towson University in Baltimore, MD, a world class teacher´s university.	I have seven years of teaching experience in multicultural classrooms and three years of online teaching and training experience. I teach both children and adults at a bilingual Spanish/English school in beautiful Coban, Guatemala in conjunction with my online classes. My professional interests are reflective development, lifelong learning, training and maintaining a strong connection with my students. The most enjoyable part of my job is getting to know new students and help them achieve their personal goals. I look forward to working with you too!

Amber	I a certified French and English teacher with classroom and online teaching experience. I have also taught EFL in France. .	My hobbies include the French language and culture, hiking and rollerblading, and watching foreign/independent films. I also enjoy all genres of music. I have an adorable four year old daughter

Olga Kowalski	Olga grew up in Russia and Germany. She holds a BS in Finance and Accounting from the University of Frankfurt and is currently completing her M.Div. in the US where she has studied theology and biblical counseling for almost four years. Olga works as a freelance translator and enjoys teaching languages. Her interests include the fine arts, history, traveling and reading.	Olga enjoys teaching English and German at all levels as well as Koine Greek, ancient Hebrew and French for beginners. Having traveled and spent time in different cultures, she understands the barriers which present themselves when learning a foreign language.
